Introduction
This application note describes a regulatory LC/MS/MS method for the qualitative identification of tortoise-shell glue, an important Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) known for its hemopoietic and hemostatic properties. Due to the high value and limited availability of tortoise-shell, adulteration with other animal shells is common. The method utilizes a PerkinElmer QSight LX50 UHPLC system coupled to a QSight 220 triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, adhering to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia guidelines. The workflow ensures accurate and reliable identification, crucial for maintaining the authenticity and quality of tortoise-shell glue.
