Introduction
Growing environmental concern has led to stricter regulations of drinking water and water supplies in general over the past decade. Several applications of interest have emerged as issues of mounting importance to ensure the health and well being of people and animals who drink water from or swim in our nation’s waterways. This includes routine monitoring and detection of cyanotoxins resulting from ever-growing algae blooms. The PerkinElmer QSight 420 LC-MS/MS affords a versatile and robust instrument for analysis of these environmental toxins, and this talk will discuss utilization of the QSight system to perform EPA 544 for determination of microcystins and nodularin in drinking water.
